Joshua Mermelstein

Joshua Mermelstein has always had a passion for film & television. He was born and raised in San Jose, Costa Rica where he received singing lessons from a young age. As a child he played the piano but his true focus was on singing. In elementary school, Joshua was in various school plays and, as he reached his teenage years he started taking acting lessons in a few local theaters and then started focusing on acting for camera, learning fundamental techniques from Stella Adler and Stanford Meisner. Joshua performed different songs in numerous school ensembles and science fairs, and has actively participated in his music academy's concerts. In 2013, he got a guest starring role in the pilot episode of a local web series called "La Vuelta" and went to French Woods Festival to keep mastering the crafts. He was involved as ensemble in "The Mikado", performed in a one act play called "Crushed" where he had two different roles, worked on a myriad of original songs, and learned basic stage combat. In 2019, his curiosity of better understanding human behaviors, led him to study psychology at ULACIT, a prestigious university in his home town. He graduated in December 2023 with Cum Laude honors. In June 2024, Joshua left his hometown to move to New York and use the skills and knowledge that he acquired through the years to pursue acting as a full time career.
